Quick Background

Sage Karam started driving go-karts at 4 years old. He was competing at 5 years. At 7 years old, Sage was the Stars of Karting’s first National champion, in the now defunct kid kart class, in Las Vegas. Moving up the karting ladder, he was recently crowned the Cadet National Champion, at the Stars Finale, in Austin Texas.

Adding to the excitement are highlights such as copping two WKA National Points Championships in the cadet and the Yamaha Junior Sportsman classes.

Sage is forced remain in the cadet class for another season because of his young age.

Q & A

Question – What is the secret of your success?
Sage – No secrets, just skills! (Big grin) Seriously, we work real hard and race all the time.

Question – What was the best race of the year for you?
Sage – the Stars East vs West race (2005), in Norman. It was a huge win for me and the team because the class was loaded with the best drivers from around the world. I didn’t have to worry about points or finishing, like I did in Austin, and I could just drive as fast as I wanted to.

Question – What do you enjoy doing in the time you’re not racing?
Sage – Always racing, so I don’t have much free time! Seriously though, I play a lot of sports and hang with my friends. My dad just bought me a serious road bike to train with him. Video games are cool too.

Question – What was your scariest moment in a kart?
Sage – Never really had an accident to scare me, but Austin was pretty scarey. I was never so nervous as I was on the grid before the final knowing that it all came down to this. (2005 season overall Championship)

How do you feel about working with your new driver and about his new car challenge?
Forget the cliche but I am really excited to be teamed up with Sage and have the resources of AA. Given Sage's talent, the pressure is going to be on me to prep and tune the car for him to win races.
