3/4/10 -- Sage Karam Takes a Trip to Honduras with Michael Fux Foundation

HONDURAS - (March 4th, 2010) -- Sage Karam just returned from a humanitarian mission, as a part of the Operation Smile organization in Honduras. Sage’s manager, Mr. Michael Fux, organized the life-changing experience for the 14 year-old race car champion.

“The trip started off with a flight to Honduras aboard Michael’s personal G4 jet. I thought that was awesome. The trip even got better. To be a part of the actual surgical procedures was an overwhelming experience. But, the most powerful moment, was when I witnessed Michael handing over a 16 month old boy, to the boy’s mother, after a successful cleft palate surgical procedure. It was emotional and rewarding for everybody”, said Sage.

“I want to thank Michael for including me in this trip. I hope that racing someday puts in a position to give back to society, as Michael and the doctors have,” Karam added. “My racing has always been dependent on the generosity of others. I can’t wait to give something back”.

Many of the children enjoyed asking Sage questions about his racing and seeing his racing photographs. “It was great to bring a little happiness to the children faces. Sometimes we don’t realize how lucky we are”.
