Written By: Sage Karam Racing

DAYTONA, FL - (January 3rd, 2010) -- Sage Karam captured two more World Karting National championships in the Yamaha and Komet Piston Port classes, bringing his total count to an amazing 35 titles. “The Switch Engine powered Birel chassis, tuned by MRP’s Chris Lobaugh was the perfect combination. It made my job of driving and winning fairly easy,”commented Sage. Karam swept the top of the award podium on Tuesday with his flawless performances.

Fresh off his Rising Star Award test in a Star Mazda Formula car, compliments of World Speed Motorsports, Sage was quick to pick up the karting groove immediately. “I enjoy racing karts and cars. The World Speed Star Mazda test was an amazing experience”, said Sage. “Unfortunately, the rules won’t permit me to compete in Star Mazda this year because of my age (14).”

“Sage is amongst the finest there is and it is a pleasure to work with such a talent. I am sure Sage will be a name we will all be hearing in the world of professional motorsports in the future”, said Chris Lobaugh of MRP Motorsports. Lobaugh works closely with Karam on race weekends and has been a valuable resource for Sage’s success. Karam has already made a name in the open-wheel world by winning at Petit LeMans (Road Atlanta) and Lime Rock in Skip Barber National events, while finishing 3rd in the overall championship.

“Two weeks ago I attended an event at Miami Childrens Hospital for my sponsor. I assisted in handing out gifts. It was a life-changing event for me. It was an incredible experience to bring some joy to children, who aren’t as fortunate as others, especially this time of the year”, said Sage.

The high-profile teenager was the only American driver to compete in both a national karting championship (WKA) and a open-wheel professional (Skip barber National) series’ fulltime in 2009. “My karting experience is the reason for my Formula car success. I am at this point because of karting. As soon as the USF2000 series and the Skip Barber National Series schedules were released, I immediately checked if I could compete in the WKA without conflict. As it turns out, I can.” Last year Sage had to bypass the WKA Daytona event to participate in the Skip Barber Shootout at Sebring. He won the grand prize at the Skip Barber Shootout with a record 52 entrants and was also named the youngest winner at only 13 years-old.

The decision for 2010 has not been determined. Please check out Sage’s website, www.sagekaram.com for updates.

Sage’s success is based on the generosity of his manager and sponsor Mr Michael Fux and associate sponsors, friends and partners: Bell Helmets, Alpinestars, Orwig Management, Andretti Autosport, MRP Motorsport, Switch Engines’ Kevin Nelson, ArtRotundo.com, Walters Web Design, SmitHahn Inc.
