5/4/09 -- Sage is Oso*Fresh in Indiana!

SOUTH BEND, IN - (May 4th, 2009) -- Oso*Fresh driver, Sage Karam captured an amazing two World Karting Association National championships over the weekend. The 2009 Skip Barber Shootout winner won both titles in the HPV class, the largest classes on the weekend.

Karam, a MAZDASPEED Developmental driver, won both championships on a Birel chassis, under the team MRP Motorsports tent. Chris Lobaugh engineered the victories and was excited for Sage’s successful weekend. “Sage drove perfectly all weekend. He is performing better than ever,” Lobaugh said.

The newest addition to Karam’s Oso*Fresh team is Switch Engine’s, Kevin Nelson. “Obviously, we are extremely excited with the product and commitment that Kevin bring’s to the team”, Sage said. “I think the combination of Kevin and Chris (Lobaugh/MRP Motorsports) will make us a serious threat at every event”. Karam’s championship victories were by margins of almost two-seconds.

The two additional championships, brings Karam’s National championships total to 31. Sage is the most decorated Junior driver on American soil and has his sights sets on a career in professional open-wheel racing. Karam competes in the Skip Barber National series and will compete next in Millville, NJ, on June 13 & 14. The youngest winner of the Skip Barber Shootout has already shown positive results with a top-ten finish in only his second race.
