7/13/09 -- Karam Captures Four WKA Podiums Written By: EKartingNews.com ELKHART LAKE, WISCONSIN - (July 13th, 2009) -- Sage Karam captured four (4) more World Karting Association podiums to bring the total to an amazing nine (9) consecutive. Karam even had a pole in the HPV Lite class over the weekend. Sage was very fast right from the start and placed 2nd in Yamaha lite, 3rd in Yamaha Heavy, 3rd in HPV Heavy and 3rd in HPV Lite. “I was docked one position in HPV Lite for an incident that was not my fault. The officials do an excellent job but can only go on what they are told sometimes, it’s no big deal,” said Sage. Sage will compete in New Castle Motorsports Park for the August event in all four classes again. Karam scored more points than any other driver on the weekend. On the Formula Open-Wheel scene, Sage will depart on Wednesday for his attempt to garner his first victory in the Skip Barber National Series. Competition commences on Thursday at Barber Motorsports Park, in Birmingham, Alabama. “I am really looking forward to the Barber event. Even though I’ve never seen the track before, I am ready for the challenge,” Karam added. This has been Sage’s busiest season of racing since he started nine years ago. Last weekend at Watkins Glen, Sage met with one of his motorsports idols, Mr Roger Penske. “Meeting Mr Penske was a dream. It is a day that I will never forget”, Sage said.
