Sage Karam delivered again – for the 9th consecutive time! Written By: Karam Racing NEW CASTLE, INDIANA - (May 21st, 2007) -- Sage Karam delivered again – for the 9th consecutive time! This time it was Sage’s 9th consecutive National cadet victory. The streak started with his win in Woodbine, Canada, last year at the Stars finale. Sage won the feature on Saturday and the feature on Sunday. “I know we have the best cadet chassis and engine program available,” claimed Sage. “I remember several years ago everybody in the cadet class had to have a certain chassis and a certain engine builder. I was the only kid on a Birel. I kinda broke the mold. Most of the kids that were winning were 12 and 13 year-olds.” Sage won his first National event as a 9 year old! New Castle was a sweet victory for the Karam camp for several reasons. Around three years ago, the family had a very rough weekend at New Castle. In fact, the family was about to leave the sport. Sage insisted all the way home, on the long ride from New Castle to Nazareth, PA, that he could turn the bad luck around with just one more race. The next event was a Stars race with some very tough competition at BeaveRun. It didn’t look like a weekend to turn things around. Sage stuck to his word and podiumed on Saturday (3rd) and Sunday (2nd). It was his first Stars of Karting cadet podiums. The following Stars cadet race he won both features at Charlotte. He’s come a long way since those three years. “Looking back to that bad weekend at New castle, I am glad that Sage convinced me to keep supporting his racing. I remember sitting on the back of the tailgate of our pickup truck, eating pizza with the entire family, feeling pretty down,” explained Jody, Sage’s dad. “Karting tests and challenges the entire family. Without a doubt, karting has strengthened our already strong family values”. Sage will be in Indy this weekend supporting and cheering for his mentor and sponsor – Michael Andretti. Andretti will attempt to win the Indy 500 this weekend. “Michael and Marco are my two favorite drivers. My dad use to take Marco and I karting together. I hope this is the year one of them wins it, “ says Sage.
Sage would like the thank his sponsors and supporters: Michael Andretti, MRP, Gary, Chris and Tim Lobaugh, Brent Ebert, Rick, Doug Fleming, Grand Products, Noonan Pedal Risers, Bell Helmets, Aplinestars, Orwig Management, SmitHahn Co., L & T Clutches, Strober Building Supplies, and Walters Web Design.
